I know it's going to be tough, looking past a corner and thinking a soft, whiskered snout's going to poke out and peek back for a while. That's your memory talking, the part of her that's bound to your heart.

And it hurts right now not because your little gentlecat is gone- she isn't, not in the most important way, but the shock and pain of her lack of physical presence is real and healthy- but because your mutual tether of love is working so hard right now, it makes it feel worse than it will by the time it calms down again.

I promise you, she misses you too. And she's right there with you; when the pain is gone, you'll see her again like always. And you'll see her everywhere, because that's where she is, including right behind your eyes, waiting to jump out and headbump you.
