What I was supposed to do: sleep
What I am actually doing: IT IS STILL THRESHOLD DAY IN BRASILIA STANDARD TIME
Also why do you mean by βyouβre watching too many Octonauts episodesβ
Also: testing lineless drawings!
.
ID: A lineless stylized drawing of a very cute orange salamander-like creature, holding a mug of coffee, chilling on sand. Near here there are some ferns, some sort of Monstera, and a Welvitschia. Green background with a light soft circle framing the composition. End ID.

You have taught me more essential information!
This time, it is the about the show Octonauts, and the celebrated worst episode of Star Trek Voyager!
The Octonauts feature such an amazing aesthetic for their subaquatic base!
It's very 60s and Austin Powers supervillain-style!
The second game in the No One Lives Forever series featured an undersea level
just like that: those nice pastel-colored clean floors, curving corridors,
giant circular windows, pneumatic tubes... Here's the ambience track from there!
Come to think of it, that underwater base aesthetic isn't unlike the Enterprise interior...
And "Threshold" has such a bizarre concept behind it β it's no wonder it's become a cult classic.
Why did they have to turn Janeway into a salamander?
I mean, the salamanders were really cool and endearing-looking,
and I would welcome any show who'd have the courage to actually
transform their central character into something so alien, but still β perplexingly weird!
A wonderful picture, by the way! The salamander is a beauty,
and you have layered all those aquarium doodads in a way
that brings out the volume and depth of the environment!

Objective: let's watch a thing that is NOT Star Trek
Obstacle: Octonauts - we have the resemblance of a Marine structure, a Captain, a Chief Engineer full of tricks, shuttles, we meet strange new lifeforms and ecosystems, sometimes characters even say fascinating :D
I rewatched "Threshold" other day, it is a very enjoyable episode if you accept how CHEESY it gets!
And thank you, I'm really trying to work more on backgrounds and props. I'll not lie, I'm happy with my Welwitschia :D Intriguing plants :D

Oh yes, it's very difficult not to stumble into a Star Trek-like show!
It's almost as archetypical and ubiquitous as The Hero's Journey or The Girl Fixes A Troubled Dude plots,
only it's a cast setup β you have:
The Leader
The Second In Command
The Techie
The Empath
The Big Security Fellow
The Two Pals
and The Mismatched Weird One
all within a pre-established hierarchy, and ready to crunch through the week's plot!
Welwitschia is the one on the right, with those red thingies in the middle, right?
I've read about them being really cool living fossils growing in the Namib desert.
They look like something that should be growing on the ocean floor,
but apparently these plants hang out in the desert?
Really interesting species!
Fascinating, even!

Hahaha, this! Star Trek is the archetypical pop-culture team! But Octonauts also features ships, exploring, strange new critters, and technobabble about futuristic doodahs. More Trek-like than Bluey or Drag Race Brazil, let's say.
Yeah, Welwitschia exactly that one! They are also pretty big, and their leaves are impressive in shape - each plant has only two (rarely three) leaves, but they grow a lot, the tips frail, and it looks like more leaves. Oh, they are exceptionally long-lived too. Plants are by-default weird (affectionate) to me, and Welwitschia is superb on this.

You're right, of course β Octonauts are very, very Trekky in nature!
Bluey runs more along the lines of another massively popular
storytelling pattern β the Suburban Family.
And Drag Race Brazil is much more of an audience participation fashion and theater genre, yeah.
I wonder if there is a reverse drag show out there, where a bunch of women
dress up in boring three-piece-suits
and compete in boring
dude-themed events?
Nevermind β found it!
And hey, it actually looks fun!
