Nice kit. I decided I couldn't afford it and settled for a cheaper, preassembled and prepainted toy. It doesn't look too bad. The worst feature of the toy is that the wheels aren't detailed, and though they fold up, they don't go all the way. Seams are a problem too. But even if I had splurged the extra few dollars, I never have time for model building anymore. I also worry about where I put new things...
Imagine yourself wearing a parachute inside one of these waiting to jump, or staring at the rear of one of these in C-47 trim with invasion stripes from the cockpit of a Waco CG-4 combat glider, with several thousand pounds of artillery directly behind you waiting to crush you if the front of your glider didn't swing up properly on landing, while hundreds of flak shells burst in the sky just outside your window, Knowing full and well you're about to be dropped over a combat zone filled with people who want to kill you, and also knowing full and well that you have no idea where the heck your going to land the infernal device you're sitting in, since you've never been further away from home then the local grocery store and now your halfway around the world...
If i was wearing one, I'd tip my hat to the bravery of the men who did such things. willing or not. in the fight for freedom.
