Hey All,
TL;DR: Let me know your feedback on my content. Comment here or send me a note.
~~~~~~~~
We are coming up on Edwin's creation day and it has gotten me thinking about Edwin's life as a job coach. Let's be honest, the job coaching content is not Furry in nature, but it is Furry-facing and intended to help furson's within the Fandom. To this point in time I have been basing all content related decisions my judgement (or, perhaps, my gut). I have no idea if I have been missing the mark on what advice/tips job searchers need and/or with how that message is communicated to them. So, I think it is time to seek feedback so I may better help folks.
Below is a list of questions that would be helpful to hear your thoughts on. Feel free to respond to any number of them at any depth. You may respond as a comment to the post or send me a note.
[START]
How did you find out about my job coaching?
Why did you decide to watch my profile?
What do you think about the job search tips series (e.g., the good/bad)?
If you could choose to change one thing about the job tips what would that be?
What topics have you not seen* but would like to be covered?
Is there anything I am missing or could be made better in general?
[END]
Also, I am working on a hybrid self-help/furry short story collection book focused on job searching. This has been a time consuming project for the last 8 months, which is why you may not have seen much of me outside of scheduled postings. The book is slated to be out by the end of Q2. More on that in the future!
Thank you to any furson who read through and considered any of the question. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Edwin
*I generally take the perspective of an early career job searcher who is looking for a white-collar job. Rarely do I make tips directed at mid- to late career workers (e.g., promotion, when to change companies, transition to leadership). I am fine branching out, but keep in mind that the core audience is just getting started.
I found out about your job coaching by just looking at your profile.
I watched you profile because of the cute hare.
The job search tips have been entirely helpful! Even though I've been in the workforce for several years now and have applied to multiple jobs there were still interesting facts I didn't consider.
I honestly cannot think of any improvement ideas. Everything about the tips series has been great!
Good luck with the book release!
I don’t recall how I found your profile, most likely I simply saw one of your posts on the FA front page. I found out about your job coaching from your profile.
I chose to watch you because I like your fursona and I am a college student who will eventually require employment to survive.
I like the tips, and I appreciate them. As someone who doesn’t know much about the job market, many of your tips go right over my head. I frequently wish that you would elaborate more on your advice. For example, one recent tip was to “write your resume with recruiters in mind” but I have no idea what that entails. Perhaps that’s just my questionable social skills (thanks autism). I suppose that at the end of the day, though, giving out all your advice for free may not be the best business model.
If I could change one thing about your tips, I would, as I said above, elaborate further on those tips in the description.
As for topics I would like seen, I would appreciate more tips targeted at the disabled community. A lot of furries are disabled so I think many would appreciate it..
As for the last question, I can’t think of anything not covered above. I really appreciate the advice you give and I love to see the Edwin Sketch of The Week pop up in my notifications and on my bsky feed. While I’m not really in a place to at the moment, I think that in the future, if I need a job coach, I will certainly think first of Edwin.
1) Ad on FA
2) Was passively (now actively) job searching and thought it might be helpful.
3) Mostly helpful. Some things I knew, some things I didn't, but they're short enough to be an easy read regardless.
4) Maybe categorize tips for different kinds of job seekers? There's some tips that recent grads or people new to the working world don't know that people who have been working a bit know already, and there might be tips more helpful to someone more experienced but not to someone fresh out of school. Or categorize tips by resume, interview, negotiation, for people stuck at a certain stage of the hiring process.
5) Maybe more information on the current job market, like the effect of AI on the hiring process and jobs in general. The job landscape is changing faster than most people can keep up with. Lots of people thought their jobs were safe got blindsighted the last year or two with layoffs and I know senior level people in some industries who have been struggling.
I found about your job coaching by an add on furaffinity
I watched because i liked the tips, and Edwin's design
I really like the tips, they'll be very useful to me
I don't know what i would change in your tips, they already look pretty good to me
I didn't saw many content related to freelance jobs or part time jobs, it would be nice if cover then a little more, many furries are freelancers
I think you're pretty good, you're not missing anything.
I hope it helps ^^
