As I oft do, gotta keep updating how I draw the drekir for the comic! Not too maaany changes, just to make sure I don't get too stagnant and to try and realize changes as needed! Never too crazy in regards to changes! Just enough to keep the drekir lookin fresh.
And not too many changes here, just mostly a flatter "neck arc" (technical term) And making some tweaks to the body differences between everyone a bit but nothing crazy.
I've really kinda gotten into posting these, folks say it helps them draw drekir on the side which is cool!
Just be well folks, things are rough right now

Let new drekir OCs spread wide and far, multiply and prosper!
Love the practical and pretty clothes designs!
What are the most common cultural attitudes towards tails in this world?
Is it more fashionable to have long and whippy ones, or shorter and thicker gecko tails?

Far and wide really isn't a phrase for the drekir ocs but for the few that are interested, I hope it helps em!
the clothes concepts are just simple and loose.
as for tails I would so the most common is indifference, its just a tail. Though many cultures use them as platforms for decoration (such as Seattlen tail paints in the comic)
Others tend to see them as signs of promiscuity (not usually bad for drekir) and so its common to decorate them to be eye catchers.
But for most drekir, as said, they're just tails that help em keep balanced, much like how we see an arm, not necessary to cover and has utility but can be very decorative if wanted

You have my gratitude for explaining the tail lore!
They may be natural functional anatomical features, but humans have loaded every patch of skin
with some kind of saucy connotation over the centuries.
Broad shoulders, steep trapezoids, thick hairy arms for dudes?
Broad hips, thick thighs and derrieres for dudettes, to say nothing of the bodacious bosoms?
So I figured something as eye-catching as the big ol' tail would have enjoyed similar attention in Dragonscape.
Then again, if they follow the birdy-reptiley pattern of gender dimorphism, also know as the "Take A Wild Guess" method,
then tail-painting would have basic identification as its principal purpose,
as opposed to enhancement and emphasizing of those gender traits.
In a world of constant cultural and mystical ebb and flow, there must be enough distractions
to obsess over bodily appearances. Besides, the drekir's most arresting features
will also be their eyes.

In regards to id'ing, what someones got to work under the hood can be discerned by pheromones. What drekir find attractive is very usually the same between all sexes. Moreover considering Gender isn't a very widespread or deep cutting social concept to begin with.
A quick whiff to know what someones got, and all good boots look just as good on any drek
