The only reason I can think of that pokemon don't listen, is that you got it in a trade.

that is true, but only if they go over the level limit, for example with the first badge, they won't listen pass lv 20

He does, but that's not why he doesn't listen. It has to do with the origins of the three monkeys.

All I got is the "Hear none, see none, speak none" thing.
My original guess would have been cause you didn't "catch" it.
Which, I was surprised I was the original trainer in my game, when I got my pansage for free.

Yup yup! He's the "hear no evil" one, so I imagine most of them would have trouble hearing (if origins and stuff made sense in the pokemon world).

In a way, I wasn't actually surprised about the trainer thing, as it's kinda like the eevee that Bill gives you and such.

Or....what if the HUMANS are the mutant rejects of pokemon? D: Since, after all, they have like no powers like the pokemon do. ....I guess it's better not to really question anything like this, huh?
