First, and most importantly, this picture was commissioned as a birthday gift for my dear friend
eliki So, Eliki, I know it's a day or two early but I do hope you like it!
The scene is a simple one. Eliki has been kind enough to show Niamh around his world a couple of times, so I thought it would be fun if she took him on a little tour of her world in return. So, naturally, she took him to the one place that's as dear to her as he is, her secret pool near Oseille. What better place to spend the day than a lovely hidden grove with flowers and a pristine pool of water to splash around in? She's even made him a little garland of flowers to celebrate his birthday.

I think the artist misunderstood when you asked for a picture of Eliki being lei'd by Niamh! Or possibly not. I'm horribly for making that overused joke, though I thought it better to make it here than on the artist's submission.
I really thought this was a sweet picture when I saw the WIP for it in Foxene's gallery, and I still have that thought now that it's finished. The Koi in the pond and the lovely shade of the tree make it seem like a serene place to relax a little and take off some stress, and I hope that this does take a little stress off of Eliki for his birthday so he can relax. I'll have to remember to pop over to his page to wish him well when the day comes.

This is only maybe the second time Niamh's little grove has ever been drawn, but she did such a wonderful job of capturing the serene, secluded feel of it. I absolutely love the feeling of friendship and affection this picture offers, too. Naturally, the important thing is whether Eliki likes it but, for myself, I'm really pleased with it.

People do tend to draw plenty of fur inside her ears, don't they? They aren't, technically, meant to be quite that fluffy inside. Her fur there is meant to be thin enough that people can see her ears redden when she blushes. But I think it's a cute little detail and I have no problem with her being drawn that way. Rabbits are meant to be fluffy, after all!

I was afraid it would be a bit late given that I only bought the commission a very little while ago, so I owe foxene a lot of thanks for getting it done in time, too!

I remembered you liked the idea of the place, which is one of the reasons I decided to go with it. One of these days I'd love to get a picture of the marketplace at Oseille, and you know that you'd be invited to come visit. But Foxene wanted to do a simple background for this, so I thought the grove was perfect. Besides, you look so cute with the flowers around your neck!

It really is. foxene did an incredible job with this picture and I love the sense of friendship and closeness she achieved with it. I'm glad you like it, too!
