This 13-page side comic is set nebulously between the first and second volume of Oren’s Forge. In a dual narrative between Oren and Gristle, the One-Eyed Wolf, the story delves into the past and provides insight into the wolf pack, as well as Oren’s motivations for starting the Hollow. You can read it on Patreon, or grab the PDF on my ko-fi shop!

Yeah he's completely right.
"You gotta just accept the difficult choice of giving up and DYING! Gawd! Why won't you just understand?!"
-_- gee... I wonder.
Heh, that said, it's interesting to see this.
The world of herbivores is one of fear and paranoia. The world of carnivores is one of brutal conflict and constant hunger.

What does Seral expect to gain for arguing here? Does he want Red to bare his throat and say "you're totally right, I elect death"? If he's trying to convince himself, he'd have better luck if he just killed Red instead of letting him take shots at his confidence first.
What he's really doing, consciously or not, is stalling. And that isn't a choice. He's proving Red's point by the very act of trying to convince him otherwise

Perfect gestures and emotions! Deep down Seral knows he's wrong but he is too selfish and in fear to get hurt himself. Holding his hand on his heart at frustration and trying to desperately explain his wrong doing, bursting in anger upon hearing the truth, perfect display of actions driven by a combination of fear and low self esteem.
Also can't help to notice the "you're dead to me now that you're useless" classic narcissistic line :'D
