Meet Lumi.
Introverted, yet outgoing; strong, yet submissive; carefree, yet protective. A bubbly dragon that often trips over their own tail (figuratively and literally), Lumi is the quiet happiness-seeking dragon that won't pass up an opportunity to put those they love before them. Whether emotionally, financially, or sexually, seeing you smile is the end goal. Long coloured hair down past the chest, a tummy and love handles that wobble slightly when they walk, and that bigger tail; that oh-so-thicker and oh-so-longer tail, Lumi loves to drape those heavy scales over anyone and everyone, no matter how big, no matter how warm, no matter how comfortable. Ever wanted to know what it's like to be squeeeeeeezed by a large anaconda...? Lumi giggles at the opportunity...
(It's done! Months in the making, thanks to one of my best friends Lou (Bloubutt, the artist) that also did my previous ref all those years ago! In the fall of last year I realized that the old 'me' didn't really fit me as it once did, the things I've been getting into, the friends I've made, the content and groups I associate myself with, I felt like I needed a change. One of the biggest changes was, when I was creating Lumi in 2021, there was always the question of, how long should I make his tail? Over the years it then occurred to me... why should it need a finite number?
I want artists and writers to create Lumi how they see fit, which includes the tail and tongue, hair, earrings, and any facial or head accessories. Any colour dye, any hairstyle, any vibe that might fit the commission/situation in front of them. I've also been coming to terms of my gender and pronouns. I still identify as male, however if there's the opportunity for Lumi to be female, I felt like I couldn't pass that up. I wanted to create Lumi to be any gender and have every available possibility between their legs, because sometimes different styles call for different appearances.
Lumi is me. Lumi is who I want to be, and strive everyday to be. I'm forever thankful to Lou for helping me visualize them and help me untangle my thoughts throughout the years; not just the process of this ref sheet. Figuring out who you are as a person and coming to terms with what makes you YOU, is one of the most important parts of your life that no one really gives themselves credit for.
