Physical Appearance:

Male wolf of athletic build, his musculature is comparable to that of a kick boxer, having served in the military and taking part in street fights and underground matches. His sharp yet fluid movements are credit to his military training having served in the Australian SAS. His fur is a mix of grays, blacks and orange and his hair is of medium length, slightly messy and has a long straight pony tail going down to his mid back.

Strengths:

•Skilled in kickboxing, mixed martial arts and Krav Maga, allowing him to close in with his attackers, even if there armed with guns and other weapons and disarmed them with minimal risk to himself. He can also perform nerve strikes on his opponent to stun or disable them or limit their abilities.
•Having had nano bots injected into him to save his life, the nano bots have duplicated themselves inside him, giving him enhanced strength, senses and agility. The nano bots are able to repair damage done to his body depending on the level of injury; scratches and open wounds close up and heal within minutes, while gunshots and mangled limbs take abit longer to repair.
•As a byproduct of having nano bots in his body, Joshua has the ability to focus and transfer his body’s kinetic energy into high powered bolts of energy, shooting out from his fists and feet. The Kinetic energy can often be heated up and blasted out though the hands as explosive fireballs or orange bolts of heat, dealing explosive and penetration damage depending on the charging time.

Weaknesses:

•His only has Invulnerability to a certain point as his body is immune to handgun rounds, daggers and small knives, and limited immunity to rifle round, radiation, acid and short swords, his nanobots offer poor protection to high caliber military rounds and magic based weapons.
•His enhanced senses have a down side, while he can hear and smell things from a long way off, the enhanced senses make him very vulnerable to high pitched sonic and scent based attacks. Such attacks can make him dizzy, quite ill and may interfere with his nanobots, a strong foul odor or high pitch sonic scream at close range can overwhelm him and cause him to pass out.
•He might a good fighter but Joshua has a strong dislike for grapplers and bear huggers. He hates getting into fights with someone who is larger than him and a good wrestler, as his body can’t stand the crushing forces of a bear hug or coiling squeeze.
•He may also have a good mind but his not invincible to getting mind controlled or hypnotized, he tries his best to try and out smart people with mind powers or hypnotic powers before they get the chance to put him under their spell.
•When using his night vision, his eyes glow bright green, giving away his position if someone happens to be watching.

Outfits:

Sneaking Outfit:
A specially designed tight form fitting nanotech sneaking suit, made out of a compound of Spandex, flexible light metals and light leather and of dark grey and orange colours. The suit’s skin can expand and harden on command to create a bullet resistant muscular coating. It also gives a slight increase in Strength, Dexterity and Constitution thanks to the nanotechnology built into it. The Suit is coloured dark grey on most of the suit except for the Shoulders, elbows, gloves, knees, boots and chest armour, which are orange in colour. Also comes with an orange utility belt with various size pockets going around the whole except for the black belt buckle, for storage of various items such as ammo, grenades, pistol, handcuffs, GPS and other crime fighting equipment. The back of his suit is also magnetic and will magnetise on command, allowing him to carry his weapons on his back, it also has a sheath for carrying his Vibro Katana into battle.

Bio:

Born to a loving Australian family, Joshua is a former Sergeant in the Royal Australia Special Air Service (SAS). Before Joshua joined the Army he was studying at one of the country’s best private schools, working towards a degree in sports health and information technology, he also was taking part in the schools military cadets program. Also prior to his enlistment he took up kickboxing and MMA, wanting to keep himself in top form as he rose in the ranks and earned the Australian national lightweight title at the age of 20. During his time with the army he passed basic training and graduated to infantry school, then moving up and graduating to Force Reconnaissance, and Sniper Schools. His true calling was with the SAS, having been selected to join the SAS, he was put in an 18 month training program, getting pushed and tested to his limits, taking part in CQB and combat exercise drills, facing his SAS instructors and passing almost flawlessly. He served in Afghanistan with the 1st Commandoes regiment in the deadly hostile Helmand Province as a point man and sniper. 8 months into his 3 year tour he was shot in the chest at point blank range with an anti material rifle while room clearing a building with a suspected sniper nest, his bleeding out form was rushed onto a medevac helicopter and transported to a nearby field hospital where he was revived twice on the operating table before doctors injected him with an experimental form of military nanobots, healing and closing up the wound in hours and saving the wolf’s life.

He soon returned to service having recovered quickly, and having new found abilities with the addition of nanobots in his body, putting it to good use by flipping overturned humvees and making himself a living shield, his nanobots enhanced body helped him save the lives of many men while serving. That all changed one hazy morning, one and a half years into his tour, his patrol squad was ordered to investigate gunfight and heat signatures coming from a town in northern Helmand. When the team got there they found the bodies of insurgents and civilians alike littering the streets and roof tops, some mutilated to the point of torn limps, others burnt to a crisp. The Grizzly scene was short lived as the patrol of around 30 men we’re ambushed by unknown attackers wearing what would only be descript as robotic battle armor, then Australian SAS patrol though on bravely, as Joshua was able to dispatch a few of the attackers, finding that there movements and abilities we’re much like his own only more enhanced. By the end of the engagement, the attackers we’re pushed back, retreating deep into the mountains as Joshua and the remaining patrol troops attempted to flee the town themselves, however this was not to be as a coalition B2 roared over head and carpet bombed the town, burying Joshua under a rumble and killing the remaining patrol survivors. As the Dust settled, Joshua crawled out; his uniform ripped to pieces as he howled in agony and rage, the men he protected for so long, all dead at the hands of an unknown enemy and friendly fire. He searched the wreckage of the town looking for some way of escaping this war zone, he was done being a soldier and a pawn, all that was on his mind was revenge for the men he lost. He took his rage out on what buildings we’re left standing, punching and kicking repeatedly until suddenly she unleashed a fiery bolt of energy from his foot into a hut and vaporizing it instantly. He couldn’t believe his eyes as he looked at his hands, attempting to recreate what he just did, with no luck, in his frustration he suddenly though back to when he was doing MMA, remember how his coach always taught him to focus and build up kinetic energy before releasing it. He decided to give it a try, focusing his mind and body, feeling the nanobots inside keeping in sync with his mind and sure enough his fists we’re glowing a bright orange as he unleashed a series of lightening fast punches, and firing off orange bolts of pure energy into a nearby car, ripping it to pieces. He continued to experiment with his new found abilities as he discovered that the nano machines inside him could be commanded by his mind to perform superhuman enhances. He decides that such powers cannot be discovered by the military as he quickly finds some civilian clothes and makes his escape into the mountains. Days later his sitting in a bar in western China having forged a passport to enter the country, watching a new report about the massacre in Helmand, knowing that by now his records would have been wiped, meaning there was no turning back to his old life anymore. He stared down at the Dog tag focusing on the one name he would have to take, his call sign, Howler.

Howler ended up moving to the United States, still keeping his name, using it to work in odd jobs from farm work and vehicle repair to armored car security and private investigative work. His military background had won him praise with law enforcement agencies as he is often called upon to aid in raids on drug cartels and gang hideouts, but his mentions have often had city officials calling for his arrest due to property damage. Currently not register with the U.N. Superheroes Relations Act and having an almost vigilante style natural often gets himself in hot water with the Superhero community, but so far his avoided getting arrested. He has done mercenary jobs helping track down and arrest warlords in the Congo, doing recon and VIP protection in Saudi Arabia and the Balkans, and pirate busting in South East Asia. He doesn’t view himself as Australia’s national super hero, but he does keep in touch with his family back home.

Personality:

Mostly calm, quiet and carrying a sense of humor, always a good listen if anyone needs someone to talk to; his true Aussie larrikin as he is not fazed by authority and will do what he wants to get what he wants. He has a soft spot for children and will do anything in his power to safe guard the lives of civilians. He has little to no remorse for those that would willingly kill civilians for pleasure, and he gets really annoyed with jumpy teasing villains. He also loves a good drink, sometimes getting drunk and having to be carried home by a fellow hero, and his language is quite colourful and very Australian.
