Another scene from my WIP story 'Fate of the Wild Lands'.

In this scene, the seasonal migration of wildebeest and other ungulates arrive at the Teraf Plateau, home of the protagonist, Kes (an Atani, a fictional canid resembling an Ethiopian Wolf).

The Atanis are not interested in hunting the wildebeest, but rather have their eyes on the much smaller impala that accompany the herds of wildebeest. However, for a reason unknown to the Atanis (but will be revealed later on in the story), the majority of the impala have disappeared.

This means that there will not be enough food for all of the Atani clans, as they have all been depending on the migration.

This, in turn, leads to conflict...
