The meaning is deeply personal to me and I don't feel comfortable sharing it just yet.

However, I will say that it's about reincarnation, and about the brevity of a body's time on Earth.

The skull is from a Western Grey Kangaroo (Macropus fuliginosus), perhaps female, I'm not too sure.
I found the skull on walk sometime around March 2023
The winter flowers here in Noongar country are so beautiful, so I thought it would be nice to do a photoshoot with the skull, to contrast life with death. I was then inspired me to make the above drawing.

Also, I just realised that the ground looks like snow. It's not. That's just what the dirt around Perth looks like. Very sandy, I think it's Entisol.

That went by so fast
My heart is heavy
There were so many
things I didn't do

Words I could have said
Songs I never sang
I made others laugh...
Well, I hope I did
But made myself cry

Why so much hatred?
I set up borders
And never crossed them
Now I'll never know
What lay beyond them

But now that has past
I have to get up
And try it again
But this time, I'll learn
