Pencil on A4 Paper.
I originally wanted to make this a watercolour, but I'm currently moving house and all of my art stuff is packed away in some box somewhere. Pencil will have to do for now.
Tephrapodus pyrolycos is non-mamalian cynodont that was once found throughout the known world.
Competition with humans and habitat loss has driven them close to extinction. Only a few individuals remain.
A notable individual is Temendi, the God of Chaos, whose physical form is that of a Tephrapodus. He is the last remaining Tephrapodus in the Teraf plateau and lives along the slopes of Mt. Elmasat, a 5000m high extinct volcano
Another is a mysterious God known as Tuluv who lives in the Cadvar mountains. Unlike most other farming cultures, the Cadvar people worship Tuluv, and create shrines to honour her.
Two other named individuals are known: Hasarath and Shasanen, but very little is known them and their whereabouts.
The genus name Tephrapodus means Ash-Foot in Greek, as it was once believed that these creatures were the cause of forest fires. Pyrolycos means Fire Wolf. This is a direct translation of the Chevarin word for the animal, Kachavashka.
