Another entry for the X-Files book, this time featuring an appearance by a roving weaseloid. This is the sort of alien that I think would have made the perfect foil for the regular X-Files program; a legitimate alien, but so mundane and silly that it would be impossible to truly take seriously compared to all the built in expectations.
In 2010 I watched the old Disney movie "The Cat from Outer Space" for the first time since I was a kid and I figure movies like that are partially responsible for the ideas I come up with today.

That weaseloid has me breathless with laughter!
I also watched Cat from Outer Space as a youngster. My grandma had lots of those old Disney animal movies, so they kind of became part of the experience of the "trip to grandma's house." It was pretty cheesy, so I probably remember it more fondly than it deserves :)
