Karena once made a livejournal post commenting on the antics of her pet ferrets, and in the post she described them as "WEASELOIDS!" which tickled my funnybone at the mental image this conjured up. I liked the term so much I had to actually illustrate the visual which presented the question of what would aliens be like who travelled from another galaxy but upon arriving to earth were discovered to be indistinguishable from ordinary ferrets save for the deely-boppers on their heads. They might arrive in advanced technology spaceships (the design for which is directly descended from SPACEMAN SPIFF), but for all practical purposes the spaceship is little more than an interstellar hamster ball while the weaseloids inside careen across the vastness of space as they look hither and yon for shiny things to grab their attention. :)
