Among the dense vegetation in one of the many rainforests of Alola, lived a Lurantis, who given the limited speaking abilities of pokemon like her, referred to herself as Lura. She was sitting near the top of a hill one evening, admiring the wonderful sunset. Lura wondered if any shooting stars would await her if she kept staring at the sky until nightfall, as she had multiple things to wish for; more berries to chew on, fewer Trumbeaks to pester her, and since she was the average, short height of a Lurantis at 2’11”, Lura thought she’d benefit from being just a few inches taller.

The Lurantis gazed at the landscape around her, hearing distant waves from the Alolan shoreline, when she spotted a small glowing light. Using her distinct compound eyes, she was able to spot a bright emerald-green berry tucked neatly in a bush, which compelled her to come closer. Not because Lura was hungry, she had just found a sizable berry tree that served as a big dinner, but because its color was unlike anything she had seen in the forest, and it appealed to her fondness of shiny things.

As the Lurantis approached the emerald berry, she thought she could treat herself with some dessert. When Lura reached the bush, she gleefully grabbed the berry, which looked bigger than she thought it would be, and tossed it into her mantis mouth. Lura rubbed her belly with content from a yummy snack.

As she walked back to the hill, the Lurantis felt a strange sensation all across her body. She thought it was the weather, as it was 3 degrees colder than what is typical for tropical Alola. But as Lura looked at the trees around her, they seemed to be getting ever so slightly shorter, weird. She looked at her mantis hands, they were shaking, her whole body was shaking! Lura grunted and closed her eyes, growing bigger, not realizing such until she opened her eyes and saw that everything around her appeared lower than it once had.

Lura couldn’t believe her eyes, confused by her changing perspective. Then the Lurantis stopped to ponder, and realized not only that the emerald berry she ate was the clear cause of this, but that this growth was exactly what she wanted. Lura let out a cry of pleasure as she grew taller and taller. She teasingly started making marks into a nearby tree with her sharp arms, watching as said marks got higher and higher along with herself.

A moment later, she could feel the sensation fading, and when the sun finished setting, her growth subsided, settling at 5 feet and 11 inches, double the size of an average Lurantis. Lura was ecstatic, with this new height, she could reach berries in tall trees much easier, and those Trumbreaks would be nimbler against her increased stature and power. She realized that all the wishes she was merely thinking about had come true, no wishing star or Jirachi required! Happy with this development, the Lurantis lied down, huddling a nearby tree, and started to drift off to sleep.

Lura had no idea how big she was going to get throughout the course of the next day.

Before the sun began to rise, Lura had already woken up. The Lurantis was excited to get up and experience her new size and changed perspective of the world around her. Lura went to get herself some breakfast, which wound up being some fruit hanging from a tree she had tried and failed to reach the other day, but now, was able to pluck them off the branches with ease. Feeling triumphant, she happily munched her well-earned fruit and glanced at the sky as the slightest tint indicating sunrise appeared.

The Lurantis was too busy enjoying her delicious meal to notice her body started shaking once more. She felt amazing after finishing eating, but she didn’t realize it was less because of the tasty fruit and more because of her growth resuming. She had already reached 6 and a half feet of height before noticing, watching as the surrounding landscape began to shrink even smaller, at least from her perspective. The sun rose fairly quickly, and Lura’s body rose along with it. 7 feet, 9 feet, 13 feet, 19 feet tall the Lurantis grew, with her growth accelerating before plateauing at a fast and steady pace as the sun finished rising and shined brightly.

Lura figured the trigger of her massive growth spurts must’ve been eating fruit, so she put her mind to gathering more. As Lura dashed across the forest, her footsteps became loud stomps, nearby plants and Pokemon feeling the impact of the growing 30 foot Lurantis, Fortunately her increasing size meant that her belly had plenty of room to store all the fruit and berries the Lurantis shoved into her mouth. Lura found bigger and riper berries higher up the trees as she continued to grow. Her height climbed to 60 feet, then 90 feet, then 130 feet as she grew taller than the tallest trees in the forest. Lura blushed as she loomed over everything else in sight, thinking she’d had enough berries for now.

Cheerfully the Lurantis stomped around the forest, knocking the high foliage out of the way to make room for her now massive self. A flock of Tumbreak had the misfortune of accidentally flying into her, only to be sent crashing down to the forest floor. With her amplified size and power, Lura merely felt a tickle, and saw the opportunity for payback as she lifted her leg and squished for birds for all the previous pestering. Fortunately, since the 300 foot tall Lurantis’ body was very soft, the Trumbeaks didn't feel much pain aside from embarrassment. She was loving her new size.

Lura smiled as she continued her massive stroll across the forest, before tripping over a large boulder and stumbling onto the vegetation around her. The impact sent a nearby large tree flying into the sky, only for it to land on the collapsed Lurantis’ body. Suddenly, the sensation and shaking Lura felt around her body calmed down. She noticed and immediately brushed off the tree and stood back up to her full height of 600 feet. The sensation returned to how it was earlier, which left the Lurantis puzzled. She grabbed and inspected the tree, wondering how it was able to slow her growth. After some consideration and staring at the sky, Lura realized that her continued growth was caused by exposure to sunlight, and the tree covering part of herself reduced this exposure, hence slowing down her growth.

Thinking about it honestly, the Lurantis would’ve been just as happy being only 1/5th her current size, and didn’t need to be any bigger. So, with her huge size, she made an impromptu shelter for herself out of the biggest trees she could find. Lura crawled inside, blocking off any and all sunlight, which made her size settle at just over 900 feet. The Lurantis stayed put for many hours, eating the fruits and berries from the trees she picked and twirling their branches as amusement.

Lura was content with her mass, but she thought being outside would be better. The Lurantis contemplated waiting until nightfall, but she was getting bored quickly. Then, she thought about pushing her size even further. She stood taller than everything in the forest, everything from the Trumbeak to the tallest of trees were dwarfed by her. Lura fantasized about running around a human city like a playground, or looming over everything in the world. It was a silly fantasy, but one that Lura loved the idea of. She burst out of her self-made shelter, as she felt the rays of sunshine pour onto her body, and the sensation returned, making her height soar even more.

Lura reveled in the pleasure as 900 feet swelled to 1,300, and she dashed to the nearest human settlement to compare her height with. As the Lurantis stomped and stomped, she saw a very tall building in the distance, seemingly taller than her somehow. Intrigued, she stomped towards it, and by the time she reached the skyscraper, she had matched its height of 1,600 feet. Lura felt a sudden urge to hug the building, which she did, embracing something fit for her size. Surprisingly, this did not damage the building very much, at least until the Lurantis grew even bigger and unintentionally exerted more pressure onto it. Fortunately, any humans inside the building landed on her, and any humans accidentally squished by her were only treated to the softness of Lurantis skin.

The Lurantis gently set down the building, and soon after grunted and swelled even bigger. 3,000 climbed to 6,000, then 9,000 feet, as the whole metropolis was destroyed by the expansion of this loomy Lurantis. Lura stepped away, not wanting to cause too much damage to all the cute little human structures. She laid on the nearby grassland as the sun began to set once more, and it would not finish doing so until Lura reached the incomprehensible height of 30,000 feet.

Lura was in pure ecstasy, she was the biggest thing in the entire world, and loomed over all the humans and pokemon that could see her for hundreds of miles. The massive Lurantis let out the loudest yawn in recorded history, closed her eyes, and drifted off to sleep.

By the time Lura woke up, the sun had fully risen, and as she slept through the sunrise, her body had already doubled to 60,000 feet of pure Lurantis mass. She yawned cutely but also very loudly, shattering her previous noise record. Lura watched as everything around her seemed to get smaller and smaller, as her growth continued to add more to her height. 15 miles turned into 30, then 60, then 120, the Lurantis dug her arms into the earth as she reveled in looming and growing. Lura’s growth only accelerated at an exponential rate, as the more Lurantis mass there was to be exposed to sunlight, the more sunlight she absorbed, and faster the Lurantis grew.

Lura’s 120 miles height swelled to 300, then 900 as she drank from a nearby ocean to hydrate herself while she still could, Lura had a feeling the ocean would soon become a mere puddle to her. And she was correct, as her size continued to balloon to 3,000 miles, rivaling that of the planet. The Lurantis smiled and wrapped her arms around the sphere for a planetary hug. She had become so massive and powerful thanks to that emerald berry she ate the other day, and couldn’t be happier for it.

She continued to get bigger, bigger, and bigger, until the planet was merely the size of this massive mantis’ iris, at which point the Sun, the driving force behind her growth, caught her attention. She floated through the vast emptiness of space, as she became quite vast herself, and got up close to the massive star. It was huge of course, even for her, but as the Lurantis got closer she absorbed the sun’s rays at an even faster rate, grunting in pleasure and smiling adorably as she grew to the size of the star in no time.

She didn’t stop there either, and continued to swell in size until the once large star became the size of a marble in comparison to her. Lura could feel her sensation calm once more since the Sun could only shine on a fraction of the Lurantis’ mass. She plopped the Sun on top of her head, admiring it with her eyes while she still could. As she grew just a bit more, another shiny thing caught her eye. It was another star, far in the distance, one more to fuel the continued growth of this massive Lurantis.
