So, I posted in my journal that a buddy of mine, a dragon that not only owns several sims in SL, but happens to be in my unit, saved by butt and spotted me the cash I needed to get one of the coolest things I have ever had on my paws.
Remember that line, "I wouldn't trust him with my wallet, but I would trust him with my life"? FUCK THAT. I would trust that scaley bastard with everything I own.
He is unattached, people. Not sure about his orientation, though...never asked. I am pretty sure he is Bi, so we generally don't rub shoulders online. Not about to cramp his style, whatever it is, you know?
Look quick, this will be in scraps soon. Its visual proof for straycat.

legal, just expensive. Try headless nails with an inch of fishing line tied to the headless part.
It is drag stabilized, so it works better short range and stays point first at longer ranges. The rarity of them is for a few reasons.
if you hunt with them, they don't tend to do as much damage as buckshot, so its not really ethical.
if you home defense with them, sooner or later a cop will ask why you use them. are they supposed to hurt more? less? I dunno.
But for just homemade hilarity, they are fun. I suggest nine medium fishing sinkers clamped to fishing wire vs. watermelon, $1.20 in dimes Vs. soft wood, and roofing nails drag stabilized with yarn or fishing line.

THE COMMENTS OF THE POSTERS IN MY SUBMISSIONS ARE THEIR OWN, AND IN NO WAY REFLECT THE OPINIONS OF "PRIESTS EMPORIUM OF RIDICULOUS FIREPOWER."
"PRIESTS EMPORIUM OF RIDICULOUS FIREPOWER" REMINDS PRIVATE SHOOTERS THAT ANY HOMEMADE MUNITION, FROM BEANBAGS TO KOOSH BALLS CAN BE LETHAL.
"PRIESTS EMPORIUM OF RIDICULOUS FIREPOWER" WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT AN OUNCE OF ANYTHING TRAVELING ANYWHERE FROM 800 fps TO 1200 fps IS POTENTIALLY LETHAL, AND NOT ACCEPTABLE AS A "WOUNDING" OR "NONLETHAL" MUNITION.
On that note, did you know that a 3 inch magnum buckshot shell is traumatically identical to 15 rounds of 9mm x 19 at 50 feet?

my advice, which is worth what you pay for it, is thus: get a stripped lower receiver, usualy between $89 and $150 depending on where you buy it. then pick up a full parts kit, I bought mine off of gunbroker.com.
Ar15.com has LOTS of tutorials for building and sighting in your new rifle. READ EVERYTHING.
this method requires you to have a little bit of mechanical ability, but gets you Intimately familiar with the rifle from day one.
if you check my scraps you will find two AR-15's I built that way

still working on that. I keep trying AKs, but I cant help but twitch at the triggers. Going from an SR-15 to that AK trigger is pretty horrible.
I saw remington had a left handed 700, which would be cool, but ruger has that gunsite scout rifle. I would kill to have that thing in left handed. so, lets see....
Bolt action before autoloader, left handed for a bolt gun, but right is fine for autos.
magazine fed, 10 rounds would be cool.
800 meters max, I am not greedy.
um...what do you mean, height?
and budget is about a grand. I have a harris bipod kicking around, and a decent set of optics already that need a home.

okay, did a buncha research including speaking with lefty shooters, here's the lowdown:
Savage model 10flcp, great rifle, may suit most of yer needs. MSRP $900.00.
Remington 700 Varmint sps. This seems like aces, here. MSRP $740.00.
both models in 308. both lefthanded. give them a look. You will likely pay less than the MSRP as the sources I used quoted high.
