Well ain't he fancy? 8D And one of the only Avians I've ever done. x3 Tried to do a classy steampunk look. Not entirely sure I pulled it off. And it's been a while since I've done traditional art with colored pencils. xD I'm a bit rusty.

It's a type of owl from the tyto family, but they all have such similar faces that it can be hard to tell.
I have two guesses. It's either a barn owl, the most common of the tyto owls and which goes by screech owl, or demon owl, or ghost owl, hobgoblin owl...
Or... given the red around the face and the red hair, is it a Madagascar Red.

The red was thrown in there purely for my own enjoyment, but Congrats! =D It's a Barn Owl.
I had recently watched the Guardians of Ga'Hoole movie and fell in love with how they did it. It was a bit rushed compared to the books but I felt they had still done a beautiful job.

Oh man, lucky! I would LOVE to see one in person. I think they're so pretty. My favorite species of owl by far.
And you should. =3 Both are good. Although the movie is a little rushed because there's sooo much information. The books are short, and there's a lot of them, kind of like how Animorphs was (if you've read that series. lol)
