Oh my God, I don't even want to think about it, it's too terrible for me, I just love dolphins and it hurts me to think that they can even be killed, let alone imagine such a scene in my head... These are the most beautiful creatures on earth and I don't want these cuties to die.
However, it exists and thrives, no one will change the ocean's food chain. Although what is depicted in the picture is fiction, so asked the one who took this trade from me. Sharks very rarely attack dolphins and then they usually kill baby dolphins. A flock of dolphins can beat a shark to death with their rostrums.
As for killer whales, they really kill dolphins. If dolphins still fight back against a not too large shark, then they are powerless to do anything against killer whales, so they are forced to die.

It's just disgusting how you can kill a dolphin, especially a baby, God, it's disgusting!
I also love killer whales, as well as some sharks, but the fact that they kill dolphins... I didn't know that. And now I regret that I found out.
I feel sorry for dolphins, they are so graceful and beautiful, they take my breath away, and at the same time these amazing animals are being killed.
But killer whales are dolphins too, right? Why do they kill their little brethren?

So you're asking why killer whales kill dolphins. Don't be rude, but I think everyone knows that.
Yes, because it is a food chain, it happened historically.
And nothing will change because of your pity. Maybe even while we're discussing this, somewhere in a distant lagoon, a killer whale is tormenting a dolphin and the turquoise water is stained with its blood...
Killer whales won't stop killing dolphins because their (dolphins) someone is sorry. Dolphins are the food of killer whales, killer whales simply won't have anything to eat if they don't kill dolphins. They are not being killed out of cruelty or bloodlust. They have no such motives. They don't take revenge on dolphins for something - no. They are driven by hunger. Of course, you will now say that they say "there are seals and fish." But firstly, not all types of killer whales feed on fish, and secondly, the law "who got caught first" applies here. Hungry killer whales will not avoid a flock of dolphins and look for sea lions, for example.

A few points. If you want to keep the imagery of the cute pure dolphin from the movies or something, do not look up how they actually behave themselves.
As for orcas they typically specialise in a few prey types and stick with it.
Some focus on sharks so hard they wear their teeth down to the gums on their prey's rough skin. They annihilate theor own teeth rather than switching prey.
Others are specialists in herding coastal fish and yet again other pods specialise in mammals. They would swim right past a school of herring or a shark while looking for seals or dolphins.
I am not sire why something so big and greedy is that picky.

Do you want me to think that dolphins are nasty creatures?
Even if they do something that is disgusting, I forgive them all their shortcomings. They're too cute not to like them because they're doing something nasty.
I can't imagine dolphins doing anything nasty, it's unthinkable.

This is a really nice drawing. I think the shark's gums would show o the upper jaw since it is clearly extended for an attack bite. Maybe it would roll back its eyes too, to rely on electroreception for the final lunge.
But the size difference, teeth and pose you picked are just great. Without a miracle that dolphin is headed for that shark's stomach.
