Why not? Street art makes our cities more colourfull and interesting.

Well it's hard in my town seeing how the cops don't take a liking to graffiti and/or street art. But thats why you learn to run :3

I don't think it's random street art. The city must be planning on installing these everywhere and this is part of a protest. Very creative though whoever did it.

I don´t think the city had anything to do with it. Somebody just taped those onto various posts in the middle of the night. But its a very cool idea.

No what I mean is, the city must be planning on putting real cameras about, for recording traffic or what not. The person/people who put these fake paper ones out are against the city, not wanting there to be cameras about recording things. The art isn't art for art's sake, it's art as a means of protest. Or is my theory anyway since they say "Against it".

Ah, I see what you mean. Well, there is CCTV on two large squares of the city, they were installed to scare drug dealers away, which worked quite well. And od course there are cameras in public transit to fight muggings and vandalism. Other than that I don´t know of any plans to install more CCTV in the city. Thats why I´m suprised that this is a matter of protest, there is no discussion about that at the moment.

That sounds like a clever protest. Wish we could do something like that in Chicago, but here there's a ban on 'street art,' even street art used for a constitutionally protected protest. ESPECIALLY street art used for a constitutionally protected protest. They are draconian in their management of permits, and ready to crack down on any 'unauthorized' displays.

We'll have to see what this new mayor does about the situation. He's claiming to want to crack down on the graft, corruption and 'pay to play' in the city, but no details have come forth yet.

Its a pity that your city is that draconian on artists that want to express themselves.

Next thing you know somebody in the security business says "Bright orange cameras? BRILLIANT!"
