It's a near year, and that means new badge photos at Shift-Tec! Having been around for a while, this isn't really news to Sam, but it's not exactly something she spends a lot of time thinking about, you know? It's one thing to be aware of the fact that the badge photos are updated annually, but it's an entirely different thing to remember that someone from Personnel might just... swing by the lab? Unannounced? With a camera? Without there even being any time to get ready?

And so Sam finds herself standing against a whiteboard, fighting back anxiety while a cheerful golden retriever fiddles with her camera. It's hard not to feel the pressure at a moment like this, especially with no prep time. You only get one shot at it and then that's your photo for the year! What if she doesn't smile right? What is smiling right, anyway? Is it like this? Is she doing it right? Everybody else seems to just know what to do!

But then it's just *click*, and the goldie is off to the next person. Sam hopes she did okay! She won't know until everyone's new badges are issued next week.
