They are known for their strength, grace, and often have long flowing manes and tails.

So in Equines pony is part of it just like stallions.

pony indeed shares same traits as animal and human walking all 4 and talking in some case they stands just like humans do
and also they have feelings and moods like humans have's so i would say they are furries in their own ways.
