Back when I was doing cartoons for SF fanzines in the 1980, I supported the candidacy of David Langford. He went on to win the annual trip from the UK to the US at a large convention. (On alternate years, the candidate went from the US to the UK. Although Canadians are allowed to run, none has ever gotten enough votes. The only time a Canadian has taken the winning trip, she was married to a man living in the US and it was a joint campaign.) In any case, I backed the winner that year, and did four separate cartoons, two of which I scanned a day or two ago. This one capitalized on the song, “Jocko Home,” a recent Devo hit.
