My turtle had a thing about his old tank. He got about two hours of direct sunlight every day where he was, and to this day I allow him the run of the room when I was in it (within reason). He got to the point where he'd get impatient waiting for me to come home, and just crawl on out of his tank and wait for me on my desk. IS THIS NORMAL BEHAVIOR FOR TURTLES
Now he's in a much larger tank (about twice the size of this one) and he has a grate on top. He still climbs up every so often, somehow getting past the grate (?!) but now it's just to look out the window, as he's in a new position where he can watch the world go by.

Ahahha. :P Mine doesn't get plants because of that. xD But she sure loves her goldfish.
I have the same style dock as you, mine started randomly chewing it. There's a big chunk gone now. o-O Not eating it, jst biting it and spitting out the pieces. I had to throw cuttlebones in there for her so she' stop.
