One of the most important moments in any family life is a baby's first word. But what happens when that first word just happens to be something that can't be uttered in public?
It's taken a few days and a couple of tries to get this on paper. I envisioned it a bit like Leonardo Da Vinci's The Last Supper with all of the characters in a panaoramic tableau (or as panoramic as 8 1/2" x 11" gets) in singles or clusters reacting to Wally's first word with Carrie as the central figure yet it's up to the viewer as to what's being said or each character's thoughts really are. I will say that the guilty/responsible party is in the room. While nowhere near as elaborate as the Feeding Frenzy image I did with this crew, I seem to enjoy doing these family/crowd scenes more with these characters than any other group I have.

The picture's more about the reactions to what he said rather than the actual word, so there's no actual word. This was inspired a bit by an actual event with my nephew who not only used such a word but used it correctly when he was trying to put his Legos together and they kept falling apart.
Awwwwwwwww he's ADORABLE. I want to hug him, he's so cute! Seriously that is the most adorable whaleshark baby ever. Though I'm trying to think who is who in terms of relations. Are they really all related in that shot? I recognise the big whale, and Carrie and the hammerhead/croc duo at the back of course. As well as Colin and Darrin.
From left to right, we have Darryl and Colin, Colin being Carrie's brother. To Colin's right is Mel Taylor, Carrie's husband and father of the kids in the picture. To his right seated is Stephen Taylor, Mel's son from a previous marriage. In front is Wally Taylor, the hybrid son of Mel and Carrie with momma Carrie behind her son giving Mel and Colin the evil eye. Behind her is Placid and Heather. To Heather's right is Meg Irwin, an Australian cousin of Carrie and Colin's and her kangaroo boyfriend, Russ Walters. In front of them kneeling on the floor and horrified is Melissa Taylor, older sister of Stephen and half sister of Wally. Whew, am I glad I didn't include more characters in this little scene.
