During a quiet moment at the FWA hotel, clup and I sat down at a lounge table with an integrated checkers set. It was his first time playing checkers, and the game was most memorable. I won, but just barely. A few hours later, he asked if he could draw a comic in my sketchbook, and I gladly obliged.

Forgive me for being too analytical, but this drawing of Checkerwalfs seems like a good metaphor for life and the world. Wallflowers are safe because they do nothing but stay in their safety zone. Players who venture into the middle of things might get into fights and be eliminated, but they also might become a king.
