Dungeon Crawl: Boss Fight! (by yoshitoki92)

Turns out the mechanism for those closing walls was in the ceiling. Of course I only figured that out when they'd closed in too much for me to, you know, fly up there. Ended up needing to do this awkward shimmy up the walls as they got closer and closer. Now I've got goo on my wings and cramps in my legs. Man, this treasure better be worth the trouble.
So I stopped the closing walls and to my surprise, they didn't just stop, or start moving back to their original position. No, they crumbled into a heap of stone and debris. And then started to move and twitch. And form into a whompin' great golem.
Of course the boss fight would be against a golem. Couldn't something soft and squishy like, I dunno, a manticore? An ogre, maybe? Hell, I'd even take a vampire. No, had to be a monster made of tough hard stone that would be resistant to my bladed weapon.
Thankfully, this is exactly why I train myself using my shield as a weapon just as much as a defensive tool.

Hold up, wrong monster. My bad. Erm... i-frame your way to victory? Or perhaps use your flame breath? There's bound to be a bunch of trapped moisture in the golem. Heat it up rapidly, and you might just fracture its armor.
