y'know, I haven't properly drawn or uploaded in a while.. About 5 months. I've done some smaller things I've had to sadly abandon, including collaborations, personal projects, and commissions I was very excited about.
My energy and focus has been more dedicated to work, and it's burned me out. It is upsetting to be an artist that doesn't draw. I worry constantly my skills are degrading and I'm unlearning important things i spent years learning. It's deeply upsetting to me how little i draw anymore, and lately, it's been upsetting that all the time and dedication i showed to my 'day job' has all been for naught. I have mixed feelings about doing freelance, but at this point, I just miss drawing, and I miss having the time for it.
I want to stop being taken advantage of and get back to my passions that I've felt too overwhelmed for. I think this year I need to get better about putting my foot down and not working harder than I'm meant to.
