eyy
i am sleepy
but here is joseph :)
you have no idea how hard it was to make that ponytail
i do hope that it is all going ok
i am worried about the dreaded Same Face Syndrome, but i think that i avoided that
plus, facial hair covers up a lot (all) of the jaw and chin, so you can get away with pretty mundane faces if you draw a beard or even a mustache over it ("Artists Hate Him! Discover The Secret Of This One Trick!!")
some comments (because i want to think critically for a bit):
1. i can see that i have a style of my own now, i think
-i notice that i have bold lines of uniform (?) density, but they can vary in size and stroke
-i add (semi) random lines on skin and hair to give interest
-i also think that i have a unique style of eye shapes (or, at least, working on it)
-i use heavier lines in (semi) random places to give weight to certain areas (i especially like to do it in triangles)
2. i am not confident in how good i am in conveying age
-Joseph (again! from Hurricane! Aaaah!
Hurricane128) is 35 in his ref sheet, so i am trying to approach this fact that he is, obviously, an adult
-granted, Joseph is in-between the ideas of a young adult and middle-aged
-one tip that i heard of (from I think the artists of the concepts in BioShock: Infinite because that's what i remember. i think that it was about the twins-who-aren't-technically-twins-because-spoilers.) is that certain things can "age" a character. i think the specific example is a mustache on the male-twin-that-isn't-a-twin-because-spoilers would make him look older. i also heard of the number of lines aging the face. more lines = more implied wrinkles = more years. i think that it is because i am (in my opinion) bad at judging age. turns out that maturity in the face can be defined by a stronger definition in facial features. your face doesn't stop maturing at 20. this kind of makes sense to me because roundness is associated with youth while definition is associated with maturity (usually, but a common example is that younger people's faces are drawn rounder and more plump--the most extreme being babies, obviously)
3. i am (hopefully???) gonna draw joseph (and brody?) in different outfits that correspond with their roles/professions/coolness
-joseph is gonna get (again, maybe) station wear, station-shirt-with-bunker-pants, full bunker gear, scba (?!)
-brody is gonna be in his (canon?) outfit of a tight shirt (wetsuit? wet-shirt? high-tech-piece-of-marine-biology-fashion?) and (cargo?) pants and a cool belt :)

-though i could draw brody in a full wetsuit. or a drysuit. with and/or scuba gear. ya
-though he is part seal...????? does he need scuba??? maybe he freedives extra-long because of seal genes? idk? but i want to draw gear...??????
