Raaf was purchased and moved to a farmstead somewhere else on the Gilded Isles. He is put to work hauling apples and other such good around, as the farm produces for the Gilded Collar. Raaf finds he likes it here, at least compared to his old job as a dock worker. There were less people here, and most of them were fellow slaves, which meant less strangers and less chances of someone taking advantage of him.
He soon begins to relax into the routine, though it is hard work as the slaves are expected to haul very heavy loads around. But it's simple and mindless, which allows Raaf to think...
