Belated Bday gift for
.
A while back we talked as they wrote N:Era: Vixen of the Dead, and I was asked to name a plant that could climb walls. I named a few, but complained that I wasn't (personally) familiar with a Parthenocissus that'd be any good for a high fantasy setting, because they have names like "virginia creeper" and "japanese creeper" (not to mention, "chinese virginia creeper"), and really, if things were gonna be that way there might as well be a Sunnyvilla creeper too.
So it came to be.
===
Parthenocissus sunnyvillia (Lisitsyn, 11926 AoA)
Sunnyvilla Creeper
Lianas, climbing. Branches green. Tendrils twice-forked, with adhesive discs. Leaves palmately compound; leaflets 5, glossy adaxially, dull abaxially, herbaceous, base cuneate, apex acuminate, margins entire, surfaces glabrous. Inflorescences divergently branched, with distinct central axis. Flowers greenish to pink. Berries globose.
===
It's pretty similar to its congeners, and I took further inspiration from other members of the grape family.. with a couple original traits? I don't know, because I haven't read about them all.
Oh, also there's Misty, from the story. Give it a look if you have the time, it's a nice entry point into the series. (and, if you have even more time, say how you liked it)
