Aero's profile; completely updated and with a pic by my sister. She's got an odd style, but I feel it fits my characters; which isn't surprising because my writing style has sort of been evolving to be quite similar to her's. Just look at Andre, really.
Anyhow, my sis is here: http://zayda.deviantart.com/
Her art tends to be a bit... abstract, not to mention rather disturbing for most people. But hey, if you're into body horrors and all, she's really awesome.
Name: Aero Erako
Species: Quilava
Battle Skill: Low
Average Grades: 51%
Age: 13
Height: 3’3.4” (1.0m)
Weight: 94.79lbs (43kg)
Grade: Freshman
Family: Father: Burn (Typhlosion), Unknown Mother (left when he was 8 months old)
History: Aero has a lot of pressure on him in PCA, from his father and the general public. Burn, Aero’s father, was once a fighter in the Grand Champions League, and thus Aero is expected to become an incredible fighter as well. However, Aero is very different to his father, and is almost physically unable to show the same talent that his father shows…
Aero is very unlike his dad. While he has inherited his fierce determination, and his notoriously bad temper, he hasn’t gotten any of his dad’s strength. He’s a terrible fighter due to his naturally frail body, and thus must rely on speed alone to fight. He tries his best to impress his stern dad, but is unable to follow in the footsteps of the heroic fighter; and consistently left behind by his father’s expectations. Unbeknownst to Aero is the fact that he is actually unrelated to Burn, despite having been told throughout his life that he is his son; in fact having been sent (whilst an egg) to the man from an old friend (as explained in Burn’s profile). All of the traits he supposedly got from his father are more likely to have come from simply having been taught by the man, or by genetic chance.
Aero has gotten into PCA earlier than most due to his father’s prestige, but because of this he is completely out of his league. While most would see him as a scholar because of his nervous disposition and lack of strength, he’s none too smart either. He has truly boundless potential though, but has been unable to use it because of the stress he is getting from the school and his father’s expectations.
Personality: Aero is very quiet and nervous, and isn’t used to having friends and being sociable due to his fierce training in his younger years. In truth, he has truly wanted to be accepted for all his life, which is easily shown by his eager-to-please nature and open-mindedness. He often acts quite bluntly towards his classmates though, often quoting his teammates views instead of his own due to a fear of rejection.
In battle, Aero is very determined to win, and is not one to back down from a fight. This is definitely a bad thing for him however, as he is often injured due to his frail body and his aggressive strategy. He constantly blames himself for these short-comings, which just add to his stress, which in turn quickly causes his temper to become explosive. When he gets mad he usually fights beyond fainting, his flames burning beyond the temperatures his body can take. He usually ends up burning himself due to this, and has thus ended up with a black, scorched mark around his flame spouts.
Aero’s aspiration in life is to become a true hero, like his father did. So far he has modelled his heroism on that of Sonic the Shaymin, the star of the only games he’s played to date. The most obvious effect of his rolemodel is his Flame Wheel’s variation, and his speed-based fighting style. He tends to be a bit delusional in this aspect, reeling off his hero’s catchphrases and trying to be ‘heroic’, but instead he ends up seeming rude or simply getting himself into trouble. When he believes it’s a time to be a hero he becomes far louder than usual, shrugging off his normally submissive personality. This admiration of his childhood hero also leads him to stereotype other students as various clichéd characters from similar media, often creating unfair prejudice or praise for students who don’t deserve it.
Interests: Aero hasn’t had much time for hobbies and interests in his life, but he has always loved breakdancing due to his natural skill at it with his body-shape. He often incorporates it into his fighting style, as it fits his speed-based attacks. He also has a love of music due to this, liking rock and hip-hop best. Other than this Aero has had little time for other things, but is always open to new things.
At the moment he is mainly studying Art and Combat, though he’s only in Combat for his dad’s sake. Aero is a relatively good artist, but tends to hide the fact. He believes that people would shun him for it, especially due to his under-confidence in his skills in drawing and painting. He does enjoy it though, and especially likes drawing other people.
Aero’s harsh training regime leads him to have little time for social outings; let alone anything outside of his Dad’s training. Thus he has little understanding of pop culture or social standards; having no clue what most students chat about; from movies to games. Despite his love of Sonic the Shaymin he actually has only played four of the games; and thus is still often left lost when trying to talk about it to others who know the series.
Aero’s most humiliating secret (in his opinion) is his love of sweet foods, particularly candy and the like which only reinforces his child-like demeanour. Aero constantly tries to hide the secret, but most of the time he admits to it quickly when presented with the chance to indulge it.
Moves:
Freshman Moves:
Flame Wheel: Aero rolls into a ball and blasts out fire to cover himself with fire. He then does a rolling attack towards his enemy, slamming into them. He partially based this move off of his childhood hero, Sonic the Shaymin’s ‘spindash’. It’s his favourite move to use, and he generally stays in the ball shape while fighting.
Overheat: When Aero’s anger reaches it’s limit, he blasts out flames strong enough to scorch himself. This attacks creates a large explosion of flames around Aero, and has often made him knock himself out due to it’s heat. Otherwise he continues fighting with the deadly flames, burning himself as he fights. This move is how he got the scorch marks on his back.
Focus Punch: A combination of a fire punch and a focus punch, this was the signature move of his father when he was in the championships. Aero’s version is rather slow in comparison to his usual fighting style, but is incredible if it connects. Aero doesn’t like using this move too often due to the amount of energy it takes to output enough strength to do it, along with it’s bad accuracy.
Ember: Aero spits out a bunch of small fireballs, which have very little effect on most opponents. However, he uses it a lot, making a hail of the fireballs which can wear down his foes before they reach him.
Learning Moves:
Sunny Day: Burn is rather ashamed that Aero would learn a ‘wussy’ move like this, but Aero seems to enjoy it. He’s already quite good with it, which suggests that he might be better in a supporting role. With a small twirl, he attempts to amplify the sun’s rays. Unluckily for him, he has often ended up doing Rain Dance by accident….
Defence Curl: Suitable for his small size and rather nervous disposition, Aero has been unknowingly learning this move. He naturally curls up as a defensive reflex, and surprisingly it actually does shrug off some strong attacks. Aero doesn’t know how to use it on command though, so it’s usefulness is often wasted.
Mimic: Due to his strange genetics, Aero has learnt this move naturally, rather than being taught it. By using it Aero studies the opponent’s moves and commits one to his memory, and then may use it for as long as he can remember it. This strange move allows such strange occurrences such as Aero squirting water from his back’s flames or even flying, but he usually adapts the moves he copies to be used with other items or weapons, because using odd moves causes him great discomfort. The move requires Gerald’s invention (a high-tech eyepiece that can capture and replay video).
Protect: Aero has learnt this move secretly, and has yet to use it in actual battling. When he does use it, it creates a barrier made of hexagonal fragments around his target, which deflects all attacks on it and bounces back physical attackers. He wants to only use it to help others, and has yet to learn how to use it upon himself for unknown reasons.
Appearance: Due to his age and species, Aero is very short. He’s only 4’5”, and is easily dwarfed even by other Quilava. He doesn’t seem to mind though, and seems to enjoy the attention he gets for being ‘cute’. His fur is always very clean and neat, but there are scorch marks around his ‘flame-spouts’ due to his anger-fuelled outbursts of fire. He usually wears ‘smart-casual’ t-shirts and trousers, and almost always has his fires extinguished, unlike other Quilavas and Typhlosions who form them like hair.
Curiously, Aero is always seen with a sky blue scarf, regardless of the time of year. He wears the scarf due to an odd genetic trait that causes him to have a basic temperature that is lower than normal by about 5 degrees Celsius. The scarf is also his most prized possession as it was his father’s from when he was young, and thus Aero wears it with pride (well, slightly less timidness).
Team and Relationships: At the moment Aero is practically completely new to the PCA. He knows pretty much no one, and is only just getting used to the atmosphere of the school. However, he is looking forward to finally getting some friends.
He is part of Team Excalibur, with Alicia, Eyrie and Medli. He gets along best with Medli, whom he sees as a mother-like figure. He is unsure about Eyrie and Alicia though, because his personality is the opposite of Alicia’s and he is confused by Eyrie’s self-proclaimed status as his girlfriend. He is also close to Tano from Team Throne; since he admires the boy’s greater skill in breakdance and his friendly and laidback attitude; whilst Tano returns this friendship since he’s simply happy to have found someone with as much enthusiasm for his hobby.
He has a large grudge against Jax, who believes himself to be Aero’s friend, as Aero believes Jax is stealing his spotlight, due to his greater skill and experience despite having a similar moveset. He believe Jax is stealing his dream to be a hero, as the other boy also fancies himself to be a one. In fact, he has a bit of a grudge against all of the Dracostrikers, as he thinks they’re way to ‘whiney’.
