If Simba were to end up in a plot like this, I figure it would happen during the time in between Scar exiling him and Timon and Pumbaa taking him in. During that short window of time, I'd figure that he'd feel so lost and dejected that he'd accept anything that would give his life direction. Even a transformation regardless of what it was or how permanent it was...

Good question. Assuming he doesn’t get sent back to Earth changed back, like the short it’s based on, the first thing he’d have to go for is survival. It depends where he ends up but I do like to think Nala will find him again

It's definitely possible he'd meet Timon and Pumbaa, turned back to normal or stayed as a dinosaur
If he stayed in space, my personal head canon is that he'd eventually land on another planet or, m ore preferably, somewhere random on Earth
