It's the last day, and the last Sunday of 2023! Decided to release my 2023 reference sheet of Dion, because it be awkward to post this in 2024.

Really wanted to make a Ref of Dion because he's got such a huge personality! Dion (Dee-on) was a character I created to go alongside Yano, since I really liked the Dolphin X Orca dynamic a lot, so parts of his design were inspired from Yano's. I had ideas for Dion as early as 2013, though none of my sketches for him back then materialized into public. All of it is still just sketches in my notebook.

Dion is no ordinary bottlenose. He likes to put on a show in front of an audience! His strong, slim, and agile body, along with his energetic drive and love for the ocean, allows him to pull off really cool flips and tricks, both in and out of the water. He has a very expressive body since he communicates a lot of his thoughts and feelings through body language. He's a very kind and silly creature who wouldn't hurt a fly, choosing to make friends with all the tropical fish in his reef and live off a strictly seaweed diet. His main group of best friends include a sea turtle, an otter, and a seagull (names and designs TBA). His biggest crush is on the Sea Queen herself. He can't help himself from simping for her. Although he is bubbly, expressive, and friendly, he can be a bit pesky, overdramatic, sensitive, and naïve. If he's not performing tricks, he's probably playing his low whistle every sunrise, pulling pranks, talking to sea anemones, or hanging out with friends.
