Since I've watched the Owls of Ga'Hoole, I can't stop thinking about my own fantasy world that's inhabited with intelligent birds. I wanted to create something like an um... realistic anthro bird? I don't know, just a bird with hands. Invent their owl culture, history and in the end... write a story that takes place in this world :D

So this is the first concept art for this. The bird is rather a scribble so I'm not sure whether it is correct. And it's non of the birds that are in our world. This one is a little bit crow-like but I would like to make him a bit different from a crow (maybe he will not be black). He is 2 times bigger than a normal crow but I'm not sure about his anatomy. Perhaps I should straighten him up. I also sketched how his hand could look like from inside.

Other sketches show concept designs of their cities that would be build around the trunks in the forest. Forget about the hanging down house... that's silly xD

I would like to credit somebody for the texture...
...but unluckily it's a texture I've downloaded a long time ago and the author hadn't put any name, nickname or anything in the texture pack ^^'. The file name is "oldpiece1.jpg" and it's from a pack called "oldpaper.zip". If anyone knows the author of the texture pack, please let me know, and I will credit him/her :)
