Come my next drawing, I had gotten a handle of the brushes I was using. Went beetween paint brushes and normal pen and ink brushes instead, experimenting around to get the hang of it. I recall that I was mostly going for single layer shading and highlighting, forcing myself to get the hang of it without making a bunch of layers for each specific purpose just to keep it more within reason and to challenge myself to get the hang of the paint and style of doodle I wanted to go for.
Painting is pretty much like sculpting, especially when it comes to the details. It's also a challenge, since geting those tiny, tight crevices come out smooth and clean without disrupting the rest of the looks is a difficult task that I've yet to get the hang of. (Even moreso when you try to add shadow to the areas you've already painted.)
