I used to LOOOOVE Pokemon back when I was a kid. I had a big phase of it that started when I was 7 and ended around mid 2011. My first experience with the games was with the Mystery Dungeon series, which I originally picked up in 2006. I also remember getting Pokemon Pearl for Christmas at my Uncle and Auntie's old house, as well as destroying my way through most of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team as Charizard, who was naturally my favourite Pokemon seeing that I like anthropomorphic dragons. The point is, I have so many good memories of Pokemon that I'd need a whole journal to put them all down in!

Though the series did fall apart around 2013 with the introduction of the overpowered Fairy-type (my favourite type is Electric, by the way), as well as the more recent release of Pokemon Unite, which basically amounts to an EA game. But that still doesn't mean that I've lost my love for the series. Whenever I think back on the zeitgeist of 2007-2011, Pokemon, Digimon and Transformers will be the first to come to mind.


I loved making this art tutorial for my DA. Bascially it was just about drawing Pikachu, but I gave it my own JSRF twist. It took me a while to find the perfect pics from JSRF to add here but I sure loved being able to draw something of my own for once after all those spotlight stealing requests. I enjoyed this one and I wish I was able to make more of this stuff in 2022.
