A child when London fell beneath the surface of the Earth, Doc was from a highly religious family, and the Fall left her faith shattered. Looking for anything to grasp onto, she attached a near-religious importance to hard work and keeping to a schedule. Combined with fairly little empathy for others, this led her to be fairly successful working on the docks, eventually leading to her rising to an overseer position. An incident in her mid-forties involving some confiscated prisoner's honey and an assignation with Mr. Fires led to her life hitting a turning point (see-an accidental transformation and pregnancy.)
