The battle didn't look good from the start, but it only got worse. The targets were ready for the assault. every gun was manned, every sensor was on. Someone had to have sold them out. As the bullets whizzed by his head, Tempest became sure that the best course of action was to retire the field and regroup another day. He popped off a few shots to cover his comrades retreat, and as quickly as he arrived, he disappeared into snowy darkness again. He'd worry about the traitor once he was back at base. Where there was tea and it wasn't so goddamned cold.
Way too cold.
'Cuz this guy makes sure me 'n Cooper gets to Anthrocon every year, without fail. Thanks again, Mark. You da man!

Very well done and shaped.. makes me think of Gears of War and Unreal... ^_^
My only complaint is lack of emotion. They are firing the gun, but nothing else. Just seems like they are firing for sport if anything. No anger/rage/commanding presence. Just there. Despite backstory as provided.
I have only one question. How long did this particular piece take from beginning to end?
