Holiday Stream 2023 Sketch: Gabe /

"Getting the most obvious reason out of the way, I'm nominating Gabe for a freebie because he's my husband, and I love him very much. We'll have been married 5 months as of the day this form closes, actually! Which is really exciting in and of itself-- time seems to fly by lately, but every day I wake up beside him makes me feel stronger. Every goodnight feels incomplete without hugging him so tightly he has to pry me loose. In a lot of ways, Gabe represents all the things I've always needed in a partner-- let alone all the things I didn't know I needed until later.
Where I can be overly cautious, Gabe is decisive and forthright. Where he can be a bit impulsive, I'm deliberative and thorough. We support each other, and while both stand alone as strong and capable men, we stand even stronger together. I've always wanted that in a partner, and moreover I've always wanted someone I felt could love me, and every part of me therein. My husband is that and more, and I'm proud to say that when he tells me I've bettered his life by being in it, I feel the exact same way about him.
Sappiness aside! In addition to all that, I think Gabe deserves a freebie because he is a kind and compassionate individual, beyond almost anyone I know. He always puts the needs of others before himself, without fail. He's given thousands of dollars to a friend in the last year to support them through hard times, and try and help get them back on their feet when their local government dropped the ball. He's chosen to stay in harder positions at his job because the community he serves is under-served, even if looking into other roles elsewhere would ease the burden on him. He never has cash on him because he'll give it all away to strangers on the train that need it more than him. Gabe is selflessly giving, and honestly believes in the greater good in a way that makes me want to be better, too.
All that said, my husband never asks for much, for Christmas or otherwise-- he's a hard dude to shop for! And while I'll have something under the tree for him come what may on December 25th, I'd love to give him a chance at a little extra holiday cheer here, too." - Vadiant
