Me and my good friend have been rewritting Zairene's backstory the past couple of days. In the midst of that we've come up with some interesting character tweaking to help highlight her Talnisian characteristics and not make her species seem so similar to humans.
You can tell mostly what I've done is lenghten the hair, ears and the tail.
A Talnisian tail will tend to be rather long. On average, they'll grow to the length of one's body from head to toe. But Zairenes in particular is longer than usual. It's rare, but they can grow abnormally long from time to time. Their tails are prehensile and extremely strong, able to hold an average-sized human off their feet.
They're able to coil, bend, and flex with ease similary to a snake. It's pretty cool and creepy to see how it moves
Aside from the change in appearance, we've also developed swordstyles specifically for male and female Talnisians , both based around Battōjutsu.
Talnisians are very fond of their swords, taking great care and consideration for them. Some even give them names like Zairene and her blade, Winter (yep, that's still Winter she's carrying).
As for Zairene herself, her body structure is a bit slimmer than how I've been drawing her as of late. And her attitude isn't neeeaarrly as moody. She's calm, well-mannered, and well-spoken. But she has no problem talking shit to those that rub her the wrong way. She's arguably the strongest Talnisian of her generation (and she knows it). And for good reason

Her outfit will be the same, I just had her in her body suit this time around.
Ultimatley she's still around 45-50 years old. And she's just as awesome in combat as before. But her character will be plenty warmer in comparasion to the scary, and often detached warrior you've come to enjoy. But I think It'll be for the better =D
