This is an in-universe informational blurb about the Iolite League, a religious organization that features in my novel The Seventh Chakra.
It's just a generalized overview, nothing too comprehensive. I wanted to have a religious institution in a furry world that actually practiced a monotheistic belief set, since for whatever reason, those seem pretty uncommon in furry fiction settings.
And I don't mean that in a "religion-bashing" sense, either. Furry fiction, specifically settings where different species exist alongside one another, seems to skew towards polytheism, and while that certainly exists in this strange world I've created, I wanted to have a major religious entity that believed in Capital-G God (since this is a fictional world, there's no real-world Abrahamic faiths kicking around). And this isn't to say that settings where furries believe in God don't exist; just that they seem to be less common.
I explore religion and philosophy a fair bit in The Seventh Chakra itself, so I won't go into the details of my thoughts on the subject here. Besides, it's more fun to get those while reading them in the context of secret agents doing awesome things.

Interesting, I actually made the religion in my Goldenlea/Cirrostratus universe something that was a sort of hybrid of monotheism, pantheism, and gnosticism.
The idea was to take all the major concepts in Western religion and, instead of trying to have one displace the other, create a system of apologetics that each successive social movement used to justify the shift. That created three "ages" characterized by decidedly different beliefs and practices.
The Age of the Gods was an early, pantheistic period; the Age of the Saints was a transcendental/gnostic period where mortals were said to ascend to the level of "saint" (i.e. a demigod); then the Age of the Protector began with the last saint and ushered in an age of reverence for that particular saint, Ovego the Protector.

I soo loved thousand leaves and i got The Seventh Chakra as soon as it came out.
I just have not had time to sit down and read it.
I was able to read alot of my ebooks I have on kindle at work Because I would just say its a technical document or training materials i was catching up on.
Maybe i can stick a plain cover to this and make the same excuse.

*Reads the Politically Correct Disclaimer in the description box and chuckles* Oh Rikoshi.... I have so much fun talking with you. Though I gotta admit, you've got me panning to get home to read about those things we talked about in both books. I have read your FANG 1 and in the middle of Fang 3. :) You know me,...
