Originally, the Snow Maiden had nothing to do with Christmas but was from a Russian tale dating back from the 18h or 19th century. A couple who couldn't have children made one day with snow a baby for simulating caring for one, but miracle the swaddled up heap of snow turned into a baby, a girl. As a teen, feeling lonely, her parents allowed her to leave the house, and she entered a group of friends. But one day, the young girls played jumping over a campfire. When came the young snow maiden's turn, the other girls heard a shriek and she melted before their eyes, leaving nothing but steam. But during the Soviet Union and the change of traditions notably religious like Christmas, she would be reprised as the granddaughter of Ded Moroz, a Slavic mythology figure, and both would be turned into kinds of Santas, she helping her grandfather bring gifts and spread joy and celebration. since then she is described as a young girl dressed in blue, white and silver and her hair covered with a fur cap and a snowflake-shaped kokoshnik
