Jango & Henry pause when they see someone approach from the shadows. They're tall, significantly taller than either of them - a rare feat for Henry. And standing before them now is a Lionman. A familiar visage, even if neither of them recognize him. They've never seen this man before, yet they can't shake this familiar feeling.
"Ah, welcome." The Lionman said with a gentle smile. "You should come with me. I'm sure you'd appreciate a warm place to rest instead of lingering in the cold."
Reluctantly, our heroes follow to the outpost. They don't know if they can fully trust him, but if this is The Exile they were told about, then his help was vital to their mission.
"My name is Kiama. Who be you two??"
They introduce themselves as Jango Fox and Henry Vaughan.
"Ah, i see. Pleasure to see you."
Once in the outpost and out of the freezing world outside, the three of them sit around a fire. Jango relaxes some, but both men are still on guard around the stranger.
"You both seem rather on edge." Kiama chortled. "Don't tell me you've never met a Lionman before."
They share a look.
"...I know that face." Kiama sighed. "Allow me to tell you a story. It won't take long.
Kiama stood up. "Once upon a time, in a galaxy far away, there lived two Lionmen born onto planet Aguemoux. They were twins, brothers. They were poor, but they were content. They lived for little, but wanted many. When they were youths, they watched their father die in front of them - killed for the crime of stealing to feed their sick mother, who died of a broken heart."
"The two brothers made a promise to each other. That they would not allow this injustice to stand any more. They found that the man was in the military, so they enlisted. They trained and worked until they found the bastard and killed him in his own tent."
"But those were 10 long years of their lives and they had truly understand how uncertain and chaotic their lives were. So the two brothers formed a rebellion; they made allies with their enemies and formed ties with good friends. Eventually, they deposed their selfish king."
"In that time, however, one brother had grown sick of all this fighting and war. They wanted peace. But the other brother, drowning in his own ambition, had decided that this wasn't enough. To ensure all war stop, that all conflict be snuffed out, he started a campaign to conquer not only their entire world, but all worlds. He wanted his little brother by his side."
Kiama lowered his head. "But his brother did not."
"The two of them fought. It started with words. But then, it turned to a duel. In the end, the younger brother refused to fight his older brother. And so, defeated and humiliated, the little brother was sent into exile. He, who was once known as 'The Moon' to his brother, 'The Sun', was now known as 'The Exile', banished to Aguemoux's 3rd moon. They were told, 'if I ever see you again, I'll kill you'. And soon, that little brother would leave his home's system, wandering the stars alone."
Both Jango and Henry watched Kiama slowly face them.
"Allow me to introduce myself properly; my name is Kiama The Exile. Once, I was known as The Wise, The Miracle Worker, and the Moon, but those titles were stripped from me. And I'm sure you know of my older twin. At one point, he was known as Moyo The Sun. But I'm sure you know him better by the name he adopted. A name from the stars; a cruel, but powerful name that he had made his own. That makes all creatures shudder in horror."
"Rigel Runeslayer."
