Dineegla's Mushroom Barley Soup
Posted this back in January 27th of last year, but I got a neat recipe program called "Yummy Soup" for the Mac. It's for all sorts of food, and the picture and recipe can be exported a variety of ways and fonts.
Please enjoy my food. Creamy Mushroom Barley Soup is one of my most favorite recipes. And I load on the onions and paprika
P.S. - You WILL have extra barley left over. Put it in a bowl and cover with stretch wrap for later.

I think I would've noticed.
Lately, I've been scavenging around the supermarket for new foods to try out.
And I mean dig around every corner.
Let me demonstrate.
If I remeber right, they don't stock up the good fruit until thursday, Vegetables are best on mondays worst on fridays, and The only grains they have are rice and rice. Unless corn counts.
Oh, and the spice racks are 70% nuts and cinnamon.
Yeah, I need to find a new place to shop.

That you do... if I can just step in and make a few chefly comments.
If you're looking for new things to try I have a few suggestions, first is try to find an asian supermarket, you can usualy find some very very interesting items and ingrediants there. Picked daikon, saigon mushrooms, nori, wakame soup, prawn chips and more.
At some ones you can even pick up entire pre cooked peking roast ducks MMmmm
If you're REALLY adventurous you can try to get your paws on a durian, its a green fruit covered in sharp spikes... when you open it (when its ripe) it smells awwweeeful but tastes amazing, the taste is different for most people that try it. it tastes like pancakes to me. My grandpa has stated that it was like eating strawberry shortcake in a public rest room.... because of the smell.
Anyway take care and goodluck with the culinairy exploration

Poppa Wolf LOVES that recipe!!! I add LOTS of cheese and spiced ground beef, and the macaroni I use is the "elbows", but cooked to where they are very "al dente." If you have "problems" with cheese, this recipe is definitely NOT for you! (Or anyone who sits near you after you eat this!) LOLZ
*gives you some Bajan Macaroni Pie*

It may not be Hamburger Helper, but it'll definately satisfy your cravings for cheese!

I love to try this. *writes down ingredients* I have to saute the onions until they're golden though; we have no microwave. And I wonder how it tastes with other kinds of mushrooms - those will have to be sauteed in butter until tender I guess. Mmm...
If you want something chocolately, I do have this chocolate triple-chocolate chip cookie recipe that I think you'll love. :D
