My name is Yalta and I take Pictures of the Backs of Peoples' Heads and post them on FurAffinity. I've been doing this for a while.
Liminality is a word that internet hipsters cribbed from anthropologists to describe pictures of weirdly deserted airport bathrooms and abandoned shopping malls. There is a distinct aesthetic in these places that we so often transition through without really being present in that jumps out at us only when the droves of people we associate with them are suddenly and conspicuously absent. The anthropologists were originally describing a state of being experienced as a person's identity is in flux while transitioning through a rite of passage; standing at the threshold of a new paradigm, we step outside to look inward, reassessing our sense of self and our relationship to the world around us.
If you know the fox in the picture, you'll understand how well that meaning fits.
