They are most definitely a thing. You roll a strip of bacon up and place it on edge in a cup of a muffin tin, then bake in the oven.

Bacon Roses! Yus! And you're right, they ARE a thing!
Wuff likes to sprinkle lightly with brown sugar and cayenne pepper before rolling and placing in the muffin pan, baste them with a bit of maple syrup, and when REALLY getting fancy, brush the edges with a bit of dark chocolate after baking.
Mmmmmmm! Bacon-y!
And Vrghr likes the look of the putt-putt course. *grin*

Normally 375F And time varies depending on whether you use thick or thin cut, 1 or 2 strips, and how crisp you like your bacon. For 1 thin-cut strip, about 25-35 min. For thick cut or double strips, 45-55 min.
Don't forget to use a toothpic through the bottom to keep everything from unrolling
Also, if you're using the maple/brown sugar idea, you may want to put a circle of parchment in the bottom of the tin, or spray some non-stick spray because the sugar melts and drips.
And Bon Appetite!
