I was looking for some movies with animated bird characters for ref when I stumbled upon a childhood favorite of mine.
This bad bird here was the main reason that nine year old me got obsessed with peregrine falcons and birds in general (even went to a bird camp and such) so ofc I had to draw him. 😁

He looks so handsome, which is ironic as he's probably the most sinister villain of the three movies. (He also had a reoccurrence in the TV series, which takes place between movies 2 and 3, so he did NOT die at the end of the 2nd movie.)
I've wondered lately, upon seeing the movie again, if he had anything to do with the deaths of Margalo's family. I read very recently that not even Stuart would have been a falcon's primary prey, but other birds like Margalo would. Maybe he did in her parents, adopted her, and she just found them dead and didn't know how, and Falcon somehow failed to kill her (maybe she was out) and Falcon thought of killing her too, but instead adopted her, figuring a bird slave was better than a bird meal, and so didn't eat her dead family. Since she was so young, perhaps, at the time, she didn't make the connection to the wounds on her family's bodies and never realized that he was their killer. Margalo in the mvoie certainly seems to be a victim of Stockholm syndrome, as she really doesn't seem to be the type that enooys stealing from others.
The only reason I don't think Falcon tried to kill Margalo before the end of the 2nd movie was because he thought he could manipulate her into staying with him, but after seeing her turn on him near the climax of the 2nd movie, he knew he'd lost her forever.
In the TV seires, he tried to kill Stuart, Monty, and Snowbell. And he could have done it too, to any of them. While he couldn't really have eaten a cat (while, I suppose, he could, bit by bit), he could certainly kill them with those talons of his, if he got a strike to their throats.

He sure has a good design, plus he’s rather well animated. I really like birds but I don’t like how they’re designed in most animated media. 😅 Usually they’re either too realistic or too goofy looking for my liking. Falcon is a refreshing exception.
As for Maragalo’s parents, actually, there’s a fair chance that Falcon was the one who killed them, since peregrine falcons mainly hunt and feed on birds in real life too.

It never said if they died of an accident, an illness, from the weather (maybe it was really cold and they sacrificed their warmth to save Margalo) or if it was indeed foul play. I wouldn't put it past Falcon to do something like that.
However, I don't get why Snowbell was afraid of being eaten by Falcon, nor why Falcon even considered it (his "I don't like canned food" remark.)
Anyway, now I'm a bit conflicted if I should write a fanfiction was ultimately revelaed as the one who killed Margalo's parents, and she doesn't know this until the climatx, or if the Angora cat was the one who did it and Margalo escaped her years earlier adn now she''s come back for Margalo and Margalo knows she is bad.
At any rate, I thought of having the Angora cat, who will need a name here, be an old girlfriend of Snowbell's (as they actually were pals in the book.), though Snowbell will still remain good. I also reveal that Smokey DID die from the dog attack and she is now the leader of that cat group, though, unlike Smokey, who seemed to prefer minions do everything, she is quite willing to do dirty work herself.
