Oh hey - there's a Dorner flying boat in the air museum here that was recovered form up north. Apparently a German team were trying to do some great round da world trek in the 30's, and their aircraft came down in the crocodile infested north. The crew were rescued after living up in trees for about 4 days, with many hungry reptiles circling below.

Yes, found that one but I thought there was another one where there were two (or four?) engines in the wings and the mechanic was working on one while a...mouse(?) fem was laid out, belly down, on the wing, sunning herself

There was one small picture that Steve drew, that had a fem sunning on the nose of a flying boat, much to the surprise of a mechanic looking up from working in the cockpit.... But I can't find it on the Spontoon website. (Goes away to look more...)

Where did Spontoon Island appear in print; I saw it once, but don't remember the book.

There were 10? 11? issues of a Spontoon mini-zine some years back, as well as appearences in Huzzah and other pub's no doubt.

Something I'll have to keep an eye out for. And I need to get more Huzzah.
