UGH people like that get on my NERVES. Unless it's OBVIOUSLY an "in character" profile for just a person's character and not their business/commission-taking page, it's just...the biggest turn off. No matter what their art looks like, I just don't watch em. I mean it's cool if you want to forewarn people that you can sometimes come off blunt or crass and you don't actually mean it rudely, but just saying "I'M A RUDE PERSON LOL DEAL W/ IT" is so rebellious teenager.
Yeah, I've actually seen quite a few profiles on FA that read much like that. And then they think that gives them every right in the world to antagonize everyone and just be a generally rude, inconsiderate, judgmental person. Much like Electra, but, hey, I'm sure that's the point you were trying to make. :p
You could write a book about the book that would contain all the names of artists that do this lately
I dunno where the mentality comes from really
"I know you paid me money to do your commission, but gawd I just so don't feel like drawing it, instead I drew 5 pictures today about stuff I liked, aren't I amazing? You can't complain because I'm just so awesome!"
I want to beat them with a shovel, I don't know where this sort of entitlement comes from
If you get paid to do something, DO IT! I don't give a crap if you are having a bad day, fucking DO IT! Sit down and mother fucking DO IT!
You know how many times I have had a crappy day, and still go to work and put in %110? Cause I freaking lost count. I did my job because somebody had enough FAITH in me and my abilities to do said work, and I was sure as hell not going to let them down.
I started working at a gas station at $7 a hour, at the end I was getting $14 a hour RUNNING A GAS STATION because I was so trustworthy and I did the work of 3 people.
If you get paid to do something, FREAKING DO IT!!

While I totally and utterly agree with the sentiment of "DRAW WHAT YOU ARE PAID TO DRAW", I will say that there are days when you're just in the mood to draw one thing or another. Trying to force yourself to draw A when all you can think about is B will make the A drawing look like crap. If it means waiting an extra day but having my commission turn out like something the artist WANTED to draw, I would wait a week.
That being said.
1) Don't brag about NOT DOING YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES, that's really crappy.
2) These "omg I can't draw A right now, I need to draw B" moods are really rare, for me any way. They should never cause a significant delay.
3) If art is your job, and you are not giving 110% every day, ultimately, you will fail.

I'm talking the people that get paid to do a commission, and then after a period of weeks, months or in some cases -YEARS- still haven't done it cause "They didn't feel like it"
I personally want to smack them upside the head with the shovel of responsibility, too often artists these days look at commissions as quick income, they get the money, then they don't feel like they should be obligated to finish it cause they don't feel like it
Seriously, if you are paid to do a job, do the damn job, you don't see artists for Marvel, DC or Image showing up to work and going "Nahh, I'm in a bad mood, I'm just going to draw my own pictures today, but I'm still drawing right? That's gotta be worth something"

I don't mind it when people want to be honest and admit that they're a bit rude or blunt, but to say something like that to get out of taking responsibility for what you say and/or do is a bit much.
Something that strikes me as similar to this, is when someone lists themselves as their favorite artist over and over again. It's healthy to have a good deal of self esteem but most people would assume that you like your own work, and that you don't have to claim to like no one else's art above your own.
I'm sure someone like Electra has a shrine to herself in the bathroom.

Yeah, gotta love the "I'm a SELF-PROCLAIMED asshole, so it's okay that I'm a dick." attitude.
Although I think the listing oneself as their favorite artist thing is generally sorta tongue in cheek, especially if it's listed over and over. I feel like it would be TOO arrogant for anyone to do unironically, but you never know with some people, I suppose.

I forgot this artist that did the comic but it sent a similar message several years ago. She's at her Con table and someone recognizes her. All excited he compliments her on her work and about to hand her his sketch book and money when from behind him he hears cussing. Turning around to look there is this lion artist chewing out some fan of his. The guy asks her who it is and when she grudgingly says the guy says he'll be back later and wanders over the lion's table to get his art. I wish I could remember the artist that did this comic though.
Though I can't help but to think of an artist recently that pulled all her journals off, calls herself some very nasty things, and is of extraordinary quality in her work but I think your comic will bring to mind someone like Electra to anyone's mind.

THIS, HOLY SHIT.
I have never understood why people do this.
Same with bragging about how "crazy" or "insane" they are.
NO YOU'RE NOT, YOU'RE A PRECIOUS LITTLE SNOWFLAKE BUT YOU'RE NOT CRAZY.
Fffff

Agreed agreed agreed. I just hate people who say "I'm a jerk deal with it." It's liek someone who keeps admitting their problem repeatingly, but does nothing about it. It's like in a video game where the characters make fun of a problem in the game for a fourth wall joke. It's funny, but it doesn't solve anything.
When someone makes fun of a problem they have, it doesn't change the fact that the problem still exists. Fuck "I am who I am." Encourage "I can do better."

A COMPANY: "Hey uh...why didn't you pay your bill on time? We sent letters and phone calls, and we're shutting off service tomorrow..."
ASSHAT: "Don't even think about it. I'm just like that; it's my personality, see? I'm not punctual or responsible, and if you don't like it, suck it. Later."
not like it works in a real world situation, you know?
i never understood that mentality. acknowledging your bad traits , even ironically, doesn't make you more likable. >:
